Frequently Asked Questions:

What is a convenience fee?

A convenience fee is a fee charged to a credit or debit card user by the credit card processor. All fees collected on credit or debit card transactions are paid directly to the credit card processor. The 勛圖厙 does not receive any revenue from the fee.

Why are you charging a convenience fee?

In spite of the rising cost of credit and debit card processing fees, the university continues to accept credit and debit cards.  In the past, the expense associated with processing credit and debit cards had been paid out of tuition and other revenue, which reduces the dollars available for academic programs and services for all students. Thus, a convenience used by some students was being funded by all students. To be able to continue offering this convenience, the costs associated with processing credit and debit card payments are charged to the credit or debit card user.

How much is the convenience fee?

The convenience fee is 2.95% for domestic cards and 4.25% for international cards of the total payment amount. It will be charged to your credit or debit card when you choose the credit card payment option on Transact Pay. The fee is non-refundable, even if the payment is refunded.

Will I be charged a convenience fee for purchases made at the Bookstore, Cafeteria, or the Rathskeller?

No, they run independently from the Office of Finance and make their own policies.

What credit or debit cards do you accept?

VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.

Can I still make payments by telephone or in person?

The Office of Finance cannot take check or credit and debit card information over the phone. You can continue to pay by check via mail or by cash or check in person at the Business Office. All credit or debit card payments must be made through Transact Pay, our online payment system, which offers 24-hour, 7-day-a-week access so you can make a payment when it is convenient for you.

Can I still pay online without paying a convenience fee?
