First Destination Data Collection

OPCD sends a First Destination Survey to undergraduate seniors in March following standards set by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (). Responses are divided into categories of working (with subcategories of employment, military, and volunteering), continuing education, not seeking, and still looking. Students who answer the survey directly are known as responses. Outcomes reported via other sources are called knowledge responses.

These two groups combined (responses and knowledge responses) are used to calculate the first destination knowledge rate--the number of students for whom we have a first destination recorded.  Students who are not seeking a first destination are removed from the total known responses, so that only the group of students who have chosen to seek a first destination are part of the outcomes calculation.
