The Center for Thomas More Studies

Our Mission

To advance the study and teaching of Thomas More’s life and writings, with a special emphasis on More’s understanding of law, liberty, and leading citizenship.

Major Programs

  • Publication of educational resources, especially the  to support research projects on Thomas More and statesmanship, the resource companion to the text, and an upcoming Leading Citizens website

Director

Gerard Wegemer, Ph.D. is professor of literature at the ³Ô¹ÏÍø and the founding director of the Center for Thomas More Studies. Among his publications are (2020), edited with Dr. Stephen W. Smith; (2011), edited with Henry Asgar Kelly and Louis Karlin; (2004), edited with Dr. Stephen W. Smith; (1996); and (1995).
