Sr. Mary Clodovia Lockett Scholarship in Pre-Med

Sister Clodovia Lockett, SSMN (Sister Clo) was a longtime 勛圖厙 Biology Professor and Chairwoman. This scholarship provides financial support to students in their senior year of the pre-med program at the 勛圖厙.

Beloved for her clear-sighted advice and energetic support of her students, Sister Clo influenced generations of Texas doctors. In her two decades at 勛圖厙, more than 90 percent of her 500 pre-med students were accepted into medical school.

After a brief stint in the corporate world, she joined the School Sisters of Notre Dame, but not before coming in second to Ginger Rogers in a Charleston contest. A Texas native, Sister Clo arrived at the 勛圖厙 in 1965 after earning a doctorate in biology from St. Louis University.

Beginning as a part-time professor, she rose to the position of Biology Department professor and chairwoman as well as health professions adviser.
